Both BBVA and Moeve (formerly Cepsa) stand out not only for our shared commitment to a sustainable, responsible futureโฆ and also for embedding data, AI, and digital innovation into the heart of their core transformation.

On top of being partner of the @World Economic Forum on AI Governance Alliance, I feel fortunate to have led digital transformation for 10 years in BBVA and now 3 years at Moeve. And this โdata and digital transformationโ is not as a buzzword: itโs transformation as a core driver of growth. Using my โVILLAโ framework, the parallels between these transformations are remarkable:

- BBVA shifted from safeguarding money to actively improving customersโ financial lives with data-driven insights and digital tools. The value: creating financial wellness.
- Moeve is moving from just offering energy to delivering sustainable energy solutions. We create value through efficiency and decarbonization, as with the digital native plants. The value: driving a sustainable energy future.
2. Insight into Human Behavior ๐ง
- BBVA saw customers requested clarity and control over their finances, specially after the financial crisis. The award-winning mobile banking application empowers users with personalized budgets and goalsโwith the first โTu Cuentasโ app back in 2008!
- Moeve recognizes that both consumers and business aspire to sustainable mobility solutionsโฆ but need simple, practical tools. Through Green Digital initiatives, weโre creating B2B and B2C smart solutions thanks to data and AI, as our โMoeve Gowโ app.
3. Leverage AI Ecosystem Innovation ๐
- BBVA embraced Open Banking, partnering with fintechs through APIs to scale innovation faster, and later partnership with leaders as AWS for a new ADA platform (Analytics + Data + AI).
- Moeve partners also with startups (e.g. Mistral, OdiseIA), hyperscalers (AWS, Microsoft), and global consultancies (Accenture, BCG, McKinsey) to co-create smarter energy solution, including digital-native biofuel and green hydrogen plants.
4. Launch Loved AI Products โค๏ธ
- BBVA didnโt just build a banking appโthey created a trusted companion that simplifies financial complexity and improves daily lives, and now accelerated with OpenAI, Google, etc.
- Moeve is co-creating with users intuitive, AI-powered platforms that help businesses and consumers achieve their sustainability goals.
