After these intense months, it is time to recharge our energy this summer. I recognize that if we only focus on Technology and AI, we’re ignoring the fundamental shift in how high-performing teams must operate in times of uncertainty.
Honestly, I have spent this year heavily fixated on tech-driven strategic projects, whether at Moeve or the World Economic Forum. On the personal side, I’ve enjoyed sharing with my peers at CIONET Spain and DigitalES, and preparing the #FutureOfWork with ESIC University and Universidad CEU San Pablo.
True #leadership calibration is about resetting our “laser” focus for the systemic (and also personal) transformations we are only just beginning to navigate. To stay sharp and prepared for the complex challenges of the second half of 2026, I am using the summer to reflect on 3 key pillars:
1️⃣ Reflect: Strategy Over Velocity
In a climate of constant “acceleration”, summer is a good moment to ask: Are we just chasing efficiency in the short term, or are we building long-term value for all, especially our teams?
2️⃣ Read: Books on 3 Key Leaders on AI
I always devote time to reading beyond the technical. These are my 3 book recommendations fort 2026, focusing on 3 top leaders:
📚 “The Thinking Machine” by S. Witt, the history of Jensen Huang and NVIDIA: I often recommend this book as a summary of the modern history of AI.
📚 “The Infinity Machine” by C. Russo (I know, similar title to the previous!), the history of Demis Hassabis and DeepMind: This connects with the game-changing efforts of Google with DeepMind.
📚 “Empire of AI” by K. Hao, a critical history of Sam Altman and OpenAI: Interesting in light of its expected future IPO.
+ Bonus book: “Tiempo de Futuros” by David Alayón: About our ability to imagine a better future… thanks for sharing, David!
3️⃣ Prepare: My 3-Question Audit
Before the Q4 sprint, I’m challenging myself with 3 questions:
❓Priorities: What would we prioritize if we design our function around a new vision of the future?
❓Transformation: How much of our effort is focused on ‘execution’ versus ‘readiness’ for organizational strategic transformation?
❓Capabilities: How effectively can we equip ourselves and our teams to navigate ambiguity, change, and disruption while staying engaged and productive?
🚀 Happy to learn from your suggestions: What book, idea, or leadership priority is shaping your thinking for this summer?
