AI headlines are impossible to escape, yet behind the market noise, many organizations are still figuring out how to create real business value. Too often, we confuse the investments and shifting market capitalizations of companies as NVIDIA, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle,Β and others, with the deeper transformation happening through real, AI-based solutions built on their platforms.

So when I received last week the (frequent) question of the AI “bubble” from my colleagues at the World Economic Forum, I shared 3 different challenges:

1️⃣ The Hype vs. The ROI
In the news and everywhere in Linkedin, we’ve seen a few years of rushing into pilots and POCs. But now, boards are shifting from β€œWhere’s our AI?” to β€œWhere’s the ROI?”
πŸ’‘Opportunity: AI with clear business value create transformational growth that scalates. For example, Siemens has demonstrated how real value emerges when advanced AI and digital technologies are connected to industry transformation.

2️⃣ The Valuation vs. The Anxiety
Valuations of tech companies are skyrocketing, bringing memories of the dot-com buble. This creates immense “tech anxiety” in the C-suite, often replacing strategic clarity with a fear of being left behind.
πŸ’‘Opportunity: Leaders who ultimately win are those who connects technology with purpose and human capability. For example, Mistral AI has rapidly grown to a $14 billion valuation within just two years, supported by their focus on the talent of 400 technical experts.

3️⃣ From Hype vs. Historic Transformation
We’re moving past the “AI gold rush.” Now comes the maturity phase. It’s slower, more methodical, and more humanβ€”but it’s far more sustainable.
πŸ’‘Opportunity: The real opportunity isn’t just in the algorithm. It’s in connecting AI solutions to the real needs of customers… and employees. For example, as we are realising in our Moeve‘s focus on sustainable mobility, cars are becoming moving AI platforms ready for an autonomous mobility.

πŸš€Β This is how some companies evolve from “using AI” to fundamentally reinventing their ways of working. Maybe the next AI revolution isn’t about better models…Β It’s about a new economy and new jobs for all (?).
But the conversation has just startedβ€”how are you navigating the shift from AI hype to real transformations?
