In Europe today, many organizations are investing in Artificial Intelligence โ but too few are scaling. The missing link? Fragmented ecosystems and lack of scale, according to a recent @World Economic Forum report. When people ask me about my time living in Silicon Valley with Oracle, one lesson always stands out: theย ecosystem of tech collaboration. Innovation there is about a shared culture between universities (as Stanford), corporations (Google, Nvidiaโฆ), startups, and investors (Sequoia, a16zโฆ) that turned technology into real solutions with Artificial Intelligence.
๐ก In this historic times of #AI, this collaborative mindset was also a theme I discussed recently at the World Economic Forum AI Governance Alliance, in a session on AI and sustainable energy. My feedback: Itโs not too late! Europe, and Spain, has the talent and the business champions to make a positive impact with AIโฆ But to accelerate AI in Spain and Europe, we need a three-tiered strategy to build AI capacity together:
1๏ธโฃ Master AI Fundamentals
We must invest in models, Data Science, and R&D. At Moeve, our partnerships with universities like Universidad de Alcalรก and CEU are deep collaborations designed to build a pipeline of world-class talent and breakthrough research.
2๏ธโฃ Accelerate AI Applications for All
AI’s true power is unleashed when it solves real-world problems. We should focus on building solutions that solve real problems for our customers and employees across verticals: smart industry, personal financesโฆ and our core mission at Moeve: a sustainable mobility for our customers powered by data and AI.
3๏ธโฃ Forge Unbeatable Alliances
Silos will not win this race. We need integrated ecosystems where every player amplifies the others:
- Corporations provide the scale and investment, collaborating with hyperscalers and peers in cross-industry hubs like Patio Campus.
- Startups & Scale-ups like MistralAI or QCentroid inject agility and cutting-edge innovation.
- Public Institutions can foster smart, pro-innovation frameworks, a mission we actively support through organizations like DigitalES.
๐ This isn’t about copy-pasting Silicon Valley. It’s about creating a shared AI model of growth. Based on your own experience, whatโs the most important lesson youโve learned about making collaboration between different organizations (startups, corporations, universities) truly work?
